Especially gamers who already have an Xbox Game Pass subscription on their computers and want to experience the same on mobile have been eagerly awaiting an announcement from Microsoft for quite some time. With the statements made by Xbox executive Sarah Bond during today’s speech, the release date for the Xbox Game Store for Android and iOS, as well as the first games, have finally been confirmed. Here’s the release date for Xbox Game on Android and iOS…
Xbox Game Store app for Android and iOS to be released in July
Following the recent introduction of processors and phones, the mobile gaming sector has begun to develop rapidly. Microsoft is now taking a step into this pace as well. According to the official announcement, the Xbox mobile game store will be available for download on Android and iOS operating systems in July. Planned as a competitor to the App Store and Google Play Store, the Xbox Game Store will be downloadable as a third-party application.
Downloading the application over the internet as a third-party app is already common practice on Android, but the same cannot be said for iOS. For now, it remains to be seen whether Apple, which currently allows third-party applications only in the European region, will grant permission to Microsoft.
Based on Bond’s statements, we can see that the only way for the company to make the application downloadable on all devices, in all countries, and without any limits is through downloading via a browser. When Xbox Game is introduced for Android and iOS, the first games will include titles like Candy Crush and Minecraft.
The Mobile Xbox Game Store aims to provide users with a good experience by expanding the game library with updates. Additionally, being published as a third-party application may offer a more convenient user experience.
